The Problem with Your Sales Funnel
One of the first things successful online entrepreneurs learn is the power of a sales funnel.
Once you have your funnel in place, you may find it is not working as well as you would have hoped.
So what’s missing?
Consistency and cohesiveness.
I know, you email your list regularly. You’re making them offers, and you even make some sales. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be in business for long. But if your sales funnel isn’t bringing you a steady cash flow that keeps growing week after week, then something is wrong. I’m betting it’s because it lacks consistency and cohesion.
It happens for all of us, so don’t beat yourself up, but do take a look at your sales funnel and offers with a critical eye, and ask yourself:
Does my opt-in offer solve a real problem of my ideal client?
We often throw together an eBook or checklist without stopping to consider if our ideal customer—the ones we want to work with—actually needs or wants it. Unless your opt-in offer solves a problem for your client, she’s probably going to pass on it.
Does my follow-up email series continue to help her solve her problems?
This is where a lot of sales funnels go off track—in the follow-up. To maintain cohesiveness and to keep your readers’ interest, your follow-up emails should continue to address the problem that initially brought her to your list. Unrelated offers and random affiliate products create distrust and can even lead to unsubscribes.
Does my big offer follow naturally from the opt-in offer?
If your opt-in offer is designed to help Realtors manage their time better, then your high-end program should include time management as well. Otherwise, there will be a disconnect and readers will feel you don’t know what they need.
Just like a great sales page, all the parts of your sales funnel need to flow naturally from one to the next, leading and nurturing your readers toward bigger and better offers.
It’s this cohesiveness that will help fix the leaks and keep your sales funnel filled with prospective customers who can’t wait to buy more from you.
