  4.  | Social Media Secrets to Get More Clients

When was the last time you actually mentioned your business and what you do on Facebook?

Do the followers of your personal page have any idea what you do for a living?

Or are you on Facebook only keeping up with college buddies and parent friends from your kids’ school? (Hint: they may be needing your services or know someone who does, AND they already know and like you.)

You know this, but it still bears repeating: If you don’t toot your horn once in a while, no one else will do it for you.

Don’t just sit back and wait for people to magically find you.

Be proactive and step out from behind the safety of your computer and begin to TELL people what your business is all about. That is how you get more clients.

Does promotion Feel icky?

It’s true; you don’t want every Facebook post to be self-promotion because that definitely gets old and could get everyone to unfriend you. Instead, you can develop a social media plan, so your posts are a balance between personal, business, and fun.

Facebook allows you at least three different ways to reach your audience, and if you’re on Facebook for business, you should use all three because not everyone will see every post you publish.

Using all three avenues raises the odds that the people in your target market will see something that interests them. You never know who may be your new best client!

1. Optimize Your Personal Facebook Page

Prospective clients will check out your profile often if you do an excellent job of posting to it consistently and reaching out to others as friends.

So, to get their attention, be sure you fill out ALL the sections on your personal page as completely as possible.

Check these four areas:

1. Add your bio – describe to your friends and followers what makes you tick and how you’re unique

2. Add featured photos – these are a beautiful, visual way to grab attention with photos from conferences, workshops, speaking engagements, etc.

3. Add your business information including links to your website, Facebook Groups, and Facebook Business Page

4. Link to your other social media profiles located under the About >> “Contact & Basic Info” section

Even though your personal page is meant for personal stuff, you can definitely announce the launch of your new book, post photos of your recent mastermind retreat, or talk about the awesome convention you attended where met your mentor.

Yes, all of these are business-related, but your business is still part of your life and totally fine to share on your personal page.

All of these little things can be the beginning step to get more clients.

2. Create Your Business Page on Facebook

The standard rule for Facebook is to use a business page to promote your business and have your personal profile for personal communication. So, be sure to stay in good standing with Facebook, create that business page, and optimize it in the same, complete way as you did your personal page.

Business pages have been a cause for complaint recently because users complain that they never see page posts in their news feeds anymore, even though they have liked the page. I know this is aggravating, but don’t give up yet.

If nothing else, be sure to add your website link and other contact information here and keep it up to date.

And since it’s your business page, you can post about your business and promote your products daily, even multiple times a day, without worrying about overdoing it.

Other things you can do from your business Facebook page are run contests as well as add an opt-in offer to the tabs.

Consider your business page this is a quick overview of your business and services where your followers can decide if they want to learn more about you or move forward with a consultation. You can put a “Send Message” button on your business page to make appointment bookings even easier.

3. Use Facebook Groups to Woo Your Prospects

Facebook groups are another great resource to chat directly with your prospective clients. A public group is a good way to handle your customer service questions. Closed or Secret group is best used for specialty discussion topics or for private memberships.

Keep in mind that a successful group needs daily interaction from their host (you), so they don’t forget about you, but with a little planning and automation that’s easy to add to your overall marketing plan.

How to Find New Clients On Social Media

Remember this critical note: finding new clients is about building relationships, and that doesn’t just happen overnight.

But use these three areas will give you a boost in reaching more prospective clients:

1. Using your Personal Facebook Profile

2. Creating and Filling Out Your Facebook Business Page

3. Utilizing the power of Facebook Groups to connect with more people

And remember, you need to talk about your business, showcase your expertise, reach out to your audience, and when the time is right, they will think of you because you dared to talk about what you do.
